Event Reports

Many thanks to the riders who took part for SEWA UK!

This included: Kamlesh Patel , Mukesh Shah , Rajiv shah , Chandni Vora, Rajesh Panchami and Sanjay Panchami, who raised a combined total of £2785.75 (including tax relief).

Kamlesh Patel, a regular participant in CTA events completed the ride in 6 hours and 18 minutes – well done and thank you for always motivating and assisting others at CTA events!

Mukesh Shah also completed the event, in 6 hours and 48 minutes. Again, thank you for your motivation, leadership and fund raising.

Chandni Vore who took part, raised over £1600 and has kindly provided a comment:

“It was one of the hardest challenges I have taken on to date but am totally overwhelmed that I managed to get across the finish line.  The best feeling of sense of achievement, self motivation, endurance, not to give up,  drive and determination to complete the task at hand.  One hill was closed off due to the fatality so I was short by the 100 mark but am still thrilled to reach a milestone in 8 hours.

I was lucky to be connected to the shsihikunj team for Sunday training however my training only started from early may this year hence was concerned whether I will be able to do the challenge.  The furthest I had done in the past was 56 London to Brighton 2 years back.  Finding the time for training was hard as being a mum of two young girls and a working full time.  Hence I would hit the gym in my early morning spin classes at 6.00am to catch up on my weekly mileage.  It was a personal challenge and I wanted to give my time (sewa concept) to raise for Nepal.  As last year I went to Kailash mansarovor to scatter my kakas ashes and was very touched by the people of Nepal and their sherpas.  So hearing of the earthquake struck a personal chord.  So far my supporters have been able to contribute towards my challenge £1,390 nearly double my target so am pleased all these people had faith in me.”

Well done to all involved!
